The Problem of Evil | Free Will, Divine Will, & A World Without Sin | Part 1 of 5
The Nathan Jacobs Podcast
Greetings subscribers! It’s Thursday again, which means we have a new episode of The Nathan Jacobs Podcast.
I’ve neglected to draw your attention to the last few episodes. If you dig back in the archives you’ll find a third treatment on the problem of divine hiddenness. You can listen to a chat with Charles Lelon on the story of the Rich Young Ruler and the question, can the rich be saved? The second part in my series on Hollywood and the bastardizing IP also dropped. And you can find my take on mystery and some of the misunderstandings about the term.
As for today’s episode, I’m very excited to be offering my first installment on the problem of evil — a topic that has occupied much of this Substack. In this first episode, I go through the basic elements of the problem of evil and look at the staples of the traditional Christian response to the question. Specifically, I look at free will, divine permission, and whether a sinless world would be either possible or preferable to our own.
