I voted for Anthropology because I think it underlies so much of the other two (atonement and predestination). The Trinity if of course related, but it might be a good idea to build this series from "the ground up" so to speak.
Yep, the plan is to continue on with this all the way through Mark and then on to another book of the Bible. I'm thinking I might go ahead and polish up all of these notes and release a theological commentary when done. Whatcha think?
Well, I was kinda thinking the same thing as I was reading. We need commentaries and exegesis that is not bogged down with alot of stuff like what you normally find but one that is easy to read, understand, yet takes into account the original context, has the input of the Eastern Patristic doctrine, etc. But most importantly applicable. What you wrote this morning fits that bill. Good example: "Notice, however, that the calling is without coercion. Christ spoke, and they obeyed. The calling is synergistic, requiring both the calling of their Maker and their cooperation. Such is the very dynamic the Eastern fathers see in the doctrine of the logoi."
And one more thing...it will get really good by the time you start talking about the demonic, which is all over the gospel of Mark. You will be able to incorporate that particular understanding that you have discussed so much, and it will be fresh and new for everyone.
Absolutely, the demonic is all over the gospel of Mark, and if you could look ahead at my notes on later verses and chapters, you’ll see precisely that.
I love these commentaries, and I would love to have them published so that I can add them to my reference sources.
This is the plan!
From the ground of being itself!

I admit I'm inclined to agree!
This is excellent commentary Dr. Jacobs. I hope you go through the whole gospel. I just started reading it last week in preparation for tomorrow.
